After participating in the 5 Day Winter Cleanse I was able to facilitate a New Moon, New You Dream Circle Workshop. We all enjoyed setting our intentions for Dreams and desires that we want to manifest in the next 6 - 12 months. It was a lot more than cutting and pasting on a board. We allowed our inner wise self to guide us in this journey of self-discovery. It was a perfect complement to a week of cleansing our bodies. I can't wait to see what manifests for us over the next year.
We had a nice calm and relaxing morning at Blue Pelican Gallery Gifts & Yarn. The ladies and I chatted about books, movies, kids, etc. It was very enjoyable and soothing as everyone was knee deep into their projects. Lynn completed her fantastic entrelac sweater. I love it and would offer lots of money for it if it fit me. 😉. Stay tuned we should have another entrelac reveal next week.
We are back on track knitting at Blue Pelican Gallery Gifts & Yarn. The weather was perfect today. I can't believe it's the middle of January.
We had a great morning catching up after the holidays. I postponed our little tea party since most of the group could not make it today. We got a lot done though. Lynn made another gorgeous throw out of her Christmas gift (yarn) that her wonderful husband picked out. He's got a good eye for color. Chris finished her 'bun hat' which is all the rage in knitting circles this winter. Jane worked on her beautiful poncho and brought her completed a Green Bay hat she knitted for her husband. Jenn is finishing up knitting for her daughter's. The weather was beautiful and slightly chilly today. I'm glad we are back on our Tuesday morning routine.
As we begin our 3rd year of our knitting circle at Blue Pelican Gallery Gifts & Yarn I would like to spotlight one of our knitters. Lynn joined us in the summer of '15 when she relocated permanently to Hatteras Island from Virginia. She was a long time knitter and crocheted. Her intent in joining our group was to learn knew techniques and to meet new people in the community. She had retired from Social Work and working at Target. Lynn has a brilliant mind and a lot of knowledge to offer. She loves the fiber arts, traveling, sci-fi, fishing, beading, reading, art history and the classics.
Since joining the group she has mastered the art of our 'Yarntaster' throw. Lynn crochets hers with a large crochet hook. She has become a painter of yarn in mixing colors and textures into her blankets. Each one is unique, warm, cozy and filled with love. She has been very prolific and has given her family and friends wonderful heirlooms to be cherished.
It's been a wonderful experience getting to know Lynn and I can't wait to see what she creates this year
